There is one application deadline per year. The next application deadline is December 7, 2007. Please refer to the website of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences for updated information.
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test is required; the requirement is waived for graduates of dental and medical schools. The GRE Subject test is optional: if you choose to take the subject test, you can take it in the subject of your choice. When requesting score reports, be sure to indicate the receiving institution as Harvard University, Graduate Division, Arts and Sciences, code 3451.
Applicants whose native language is not English and who have not received a degree from an English language institution must score at least 600 on the paper version or at least 250 on the electronic version of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). GRE tests should be taken no later than October 2007 for official scores to arrive in time.
When filling out the application it is important that you accurately list your program and subject of choice on the top right hand corner of the first page of the application.
